Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services
Paul J . Cooper Residential Services is designed to provide homes and supportive services to individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities who need 24hr direct care support. Licensed by the State of New York Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), Paul J. Cooper Center for Human Services operates Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF’s), Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA’s), and Crisis In-Home Respite.
We see our work as a collaborative partnership with the individuals and their families. Our overall goal is to empower individuals to the fullest extent possible. We seek to increase integration into the community, facilitate the use of community resources, and develop opportunities for competitive employment through job training and behavioral management.
Our Crisis In-Home Respite provides services to individuals of all ages with challenging behaviors who reside at home. This service provides support to the individuals by engaging them in positive and enjoyable activities in and out of the home setting.
